Participants are strongly encouraged to correspond with project staff as needed and without delay. Proper and timely communication is essential for both participant compensation and lab success.
This includes:
Notifying staff if you are unable to attend your in-person appointment as soon as possible
Notifying project staff if you no longer wish to participate in the study
CONFIDENTIALITY
Participant confidentiality and safety is of utmost importance and will be protected throughout the survey. All your survey answers both in the lab and online will be confidential.
Data will be connected to identifying information only through a code
To protect against loss of confidentiality we will take numerous steps:
The master list of identifying codes will only be accessible to senior research staff and is password protected
All members of the research staff will have received NIH confidentiality training, as well as signing confidentiality agreements
Participants will be required to use a unique PIN to log into a secure server for any information submitted via Internet
